Computer Technology Ltd operates a mobile computer repair service throughout the Staffordshire area. Computer Technology Ltd charges 'No Call-Out Fee' and we also operate a 'No-Fix No-Fee' policy. We also offer a free collect and return service within Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Computer Technology Ltd has been repairing computers for years and as such we are able to offer a quick, affordable and competent computer repair service to all our customers throughout the Staffordshire area. More often than not Computer Technology Ltd can repair your computer in the comfort of your own home, there are a few occasions when we will need to take your computer away to be repaired, but these are rare and we will always get your computer back to you within 72hours.
Standard Repair Charges:
Labour per Hour/Part Hour: £24.95ex vat (Once the computer repair technican arrives the clock is ticking. You will be charged for a full hour if the time runs over into a following hour. All our computer repair technicians work as quickly as possible in order to save you time and allow us to move onto the next customer. Please do not make any unreasonable requests of the technican as he/she is there to repair the problem originally described and will not have allowed time to, for example: 'Configure your emails' (unless this was requested and agreed by the technician in advance.)
Hardware: Computer Technology Ltd does not overcharge for any hardware/peripheral items and our prices will normally be similar or less (normally less) to the price you would expect to pay on the high street for the same item. The technician will always notify you of the cost before installing any hardware items/peripherals.
Customer Not Present: If you are not present at the property at the agreed time, the technician attending will automatically leave you a bill which will be equal to the number of miles travelled to reach your property, charged at £2.00inc vat per mile. We do this in the main in order to discourage bogus customers and we will take legal action against any unpaid bill. If you have missed the technician by 10minutes or less, you may contact the technician via the telephone number on the bill and they will return to you and waive the Customer Not Present bill entirely. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Computer Repair - how our computer repair service works:
Step One: Notifying us of your computer problem.
Simply complete our computer repair estimate request form: Computer Repair Estimate Request Form describing the problem you are having with your computer as fully as possible.
Step Two: Receiving your computer repair estimate.
Computer Technology Ltd will call you back or return your email within 12-24hours with an estimate for the repair work your computer needs to fix the problem. In 95% of cases this will be the exact amount you are charged for your computer repair. However, there are occasions when a computer will require slightly more or slightly less work to repair and we will alter your final bill accordingly. We will always notify you of this as soon as we are aware of it.
Step Three: Carrying out your computer repair.
If you wish to go ahead with your computer repair we will arrange a convenient time with you for one of our computer repair technicians to attend your property. Unless you have requested otherwise the computer technician will set about repairing your computer there and then. For legal reasons, all we ask is that the technician is not left alone in the property and that a person over the age of eighteen is present to supervise. Though it is rare, if the technician is unable to repair your computer without taking it away, he will inform you and you have the option of either paying for the work carried out so far or allowing the technician to take the computer away to be repaired and returning it to you within 72hours. Although this has not happened to date, if we are still unable to repair your computer after taking it away to be repaired you will not be charged at all for our service.
Step Four: Payment.
Computer Technology Ltd will provide you with a written/printed invoice for your computer repair. Computer Technology Ltd is VAT registered and the invoice will detail the VAT amount seperately for those customers who need to claim the VAT back. As a customer you can pay for your computer repair by: Credit/Debit Card (over the telephone) or by Cash. Sorry we do not accept any other form of payment, including cheque payments.
Warranty: Computer Technology Ltd provides 12months warranty on all new parts and 30days on any refurbished items. (refurbished items will only be used on rare occassions and will be agreed in advance with you.) Computer Technology Ltd offers a 14day warranty on labour. We believe 14days is a reasonable length of time for our customers to satisfy themselves that we have completed a computer repair to a satisfactory standard and any further labour required after this time will be charged at the standard rate of £24.95ex vat per hour (this includes replacing hardware parts/peripherals that are still under warranty). We do not offer a labour warranty on any computer system which is using an invalid operating system or illegal file sharing software.
Terms: Computer Technology Ltd reserves the right to pass on computer repairs, at its discretion, to third parties for repairs to be carried out without the requirement to inform its customers. This does not affect your warranty.
